The triple-primed surface gives superior water absorption and color diffusion comparable to high-end watercolor paper. As an ISO 9001 certified Chinese manufacturer, we provide GSM and absorption rate specs you can test against competitors.

The C3071 uses 100% cotton canvas at 250gsm weight — this is significantly heavier than standard student-grade canvas (typically 180–200gsm). The weave is tight enough to prevent water penetration through to the stretcher bars while providing enough tooth for watercolor pigment to grip. Available thicknesses: 3/4" (1.8cm) and 1.5" (3.8cm).

The C3071 is triple primed with acid-free Waterbase Gesso — three separate coats applied with controlled drying between each layer. This triple-primed surface is formulated specifically for watercolor: it provides high water absorbing ability and excellent diffusion effects, making it a great substitute for traditional watercolor papers. The acid-free formulation prevents yellowing over time.

The C3071 uses pine wood stretcher frames with staples on the back for a clean edge display. Available in 3/4" (1.8cm) and 1.5" (3.8cm) thickness — the 1.5" option gives a more substantial profile that resembles a gallery-wrapped canvas. Staples on the back ensures the painting edges are clean and framable.
