SINOART crafts the A256 mini palette from select walnut wood with a hand-sanded finish that is smooth to the touch and free of splinters. Unlike Chinese manufacturers who use lower-grade timber or machine-only sanding that leaves rough edges, our palettes go through multiple sanding stages (80 → 180 → 320 grit) followed by a natural oil seal. The neodymium magnet is securely embedded and tested for retention strength. Every unit is hand-inspected before packing.

Absolutely. At just 7.3x7.3cm folded — roughly the size of a credit card — it slides easily into a pocket, pencil case, or travel pouch. The unfolded mixing area doubles your workspace, and the magnetic lid keeps the palette securely closed inside a backpack or bag. It is purpose-built for urban sketchers, plein air painters, and travel watercolorists who need a lightweight, zero-spill paint mixing solution.

The palette is crafted from premium Walnut Wood with a natural oil or food-grade wax finish — no varnish, no synthetic sealants. This preserves the wood grain's natural beauty while protecting it from moisture. Walnut wood is chosen for its fine grain, hardness (Janka rating ~1,010 lbf), and resistance to warping. FSC-certified walnut is available upon request.

Yes. We offer laser engraving on the wooden surface for logos, brand names, or decorative patterns. We also provide custom packaging options including branded gift boxes, insert cards, and hang tags. Private label and OEM orders are welcome with minimum MOQ. Custom sizes and well configurations are also negotiable for bulk orders.

For SINOART-branded stock items, there is no MOQ. For custom logo engraving or private label packaging, minimum starts at 500 pcs. Free samples are available — you only pay the shipping cost. Sample lead time is about 7 days via DHL, FedEx, or UPS.

The A256 features 15 mini color wells arranged in a compact grid layout, each approximately 1.5cm wide. They comfortably accommodate standard half-pan watercolor cakes, as well as tube paint squeezed directly into the wells. The smooth wood surface also provides ample mixing area on the unfolded lid for blending colors.

Unlike plastic travel palettes that feel cheap, develop scratches over time, and lack aesthetic appeal, the A256 walnut palette offers a premium natural material with a warm tactile feel that artists love. Wood does not stain permanently like plastic, and the handcrafted finish gives each piece a unique grain pattern. The magnetic closure is more reliable than snap-fit plastic lids that wear out.

Yes — the palette is designed primarily for watercolor and gouache. The natural oil finish resists water absorption, allowing paint to remain fluid on the surface. For acrylic, the palette can be used if cleaned promptly after painting. We do not recommend oil paints as solvents can damage the wood finish.
